My favorite recipe websites..

You know how it is when you are sipping coffee with your best friend and she offers you a slice of her white chocolate cheese cake, you put that first bite in your mouth and the smell of the chocolate hits your nose and the feel of the creamy smooth bite lands on your tongue which then the taste of all that sweetness explodes in your mouth…. You just gotta have the recipe!!!   I am one of those people.  I need to know how to make it because I want to share it with my family and friends.  I want everyone to experience the same pleasure I did when I ate it.  I am not one of those cooks that won’t pass on a recipe because it is “my dessert”.  I want to hand it down so everyone can have a try.  I have found though that no matter how closely I follow the recipe there are some things that never taste as good as that first bite.  I am always on the search for that dish that is a “wow” at every family get together.  Collecting Recipes is so much fun when you love to cook and the internet has made it so easy.  I thought I would share My favorite recipe websites with you to help you get on your way to the greatest recipe of all… Yours.

My favorite recipe websites..

1.       Taste of Home recipes site… My sister-in-law gave me the recipe magazine Taste of Home when my boys were little.  I found that not only was the magazine full of wonderful articles and recipes but that I actually used them.  They were easy to put together and understand because they were all tried and true. Simply put, they turn out how they say they will.  When the internet became “the thing” they developed an awesome site with an endless collection of not only my favorites but so many more. I was thrilled. Give it a look

2.      Allrecipes is a site full of easy to follow “Quick and Easy” recipes.   One thing I found helpful here is the videos.  If you are like me searching recipes can almost become an addiction and thank goodness for the internet and its convenience.   I’m not saying that when I am at a flea market or yard sale that I don’t get excited when I find a stack of old recipe books.  I am always looking for that one recipe that is hand written or has notes jotted on the page but a collection like the one on Allrecipes is an endless cooking adventure.

3.       I just recently started using this one Make Dinner Easy….  on this site, you will not only find easy recipes but she will help you plan a menu and make a grocery list to shop.  I think one of the hardest things about raising a family is deciding what to feed them seven days a week.  Don’t you think so?   It is always wonderful to have someone to help.  Remember “it takes a village to raise a child”.  You can add Make Dinner Easy as part of your village.

4.      The Pioneer Woman is definitely my favorite.   My friend Faye stopped by with a gift and it was the Pioneer Woman cook book.  She said this lady had written a new cookbook with good down-home recipes.  We lived in a little farming community and could relate to a great deal of her cooking technique and the book was full of beautiful pictures of Ree’s family on their Ranch in Texas.  I now watch her television show and follow The Pioneer Woman website to find not only recipes but exciting articles about entertaining and family life.  I know you will enjoy it.

5.      Good Housekeeping was a cookbook I used so many times that the cover is falling off and the pages are all stained.  I have splashed and dropped everything on it.  Then here came the website and everything is at my fingertips.  You can surf your way into a frenzy lol.    So many recipes and so little time.

This should keep you busy for a while….

Happy Cookin’
